Arnold and Mosley will decide Bay County football championship

BAY COUNTY, Fla- Arnold and Mosley will finish their season with a chance to win a championship of sorts. The final game for both teams will determine this year's Bay County champions.

"It's going to be alot of fun." Mosley head coach Perry Brown said about the game. "It's going to be for the county championship. I know their boys and staff are looking forward to it. And so are we."

Arnold and Mosley won't play in the post season this year. The Marlins finished in third place in 3a district 1, and the Dolphins finished fourth in 4a district 2, so this final game of the year will be their playoff game.

"It's kind of like a bowl game in a sense," added Brown.

Both teams are showing alot of respect for the one another heading into the matchup.

"I think it's the best offensive line I've seen in a long time. Every year they're known for how they play up front." Arnold head coach James Hale said about Mosley. "They're a power running team. No one stops their offense. We're going to have find a way somehow to compete against them."

"Arnold's got a very good football team, and I think they've shown that all year to win 7 games. We're going to have to play our butts off to stay in there with them," Brown said.

The Dolphins come in to the season finale with several key injuries, but they still have history on their side...they are 12-1 in the last 13 county games.

Brown said, "We've done well in the county and no matter what happens we're going to go out and do the best we can do, and that's all we ask of our kids. Is just do the best you can do and let the chips fall where they may."

Not surprisingly that's the same sentiment coach Hale has about this game.

"Whatever happens just do the best you can, and we can live with what happens. We just want to be able to compete with them. We want to give them a football game. We didn't do that last year, we didn't do a very good job. So, hopefully we'll be able to compete with that big ole school over there across the bridge," added Hale

The game kicks off at Gavlak stadium Friday at 7.
