PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla- The Arnold Marlins have a date with Gulf Breeze and West Florida in a three team playoff for the 5A district 1 title and runner-up spot.
All three teams have a 3-1 district record, with each team getting the better of one of the others. So now it's time to settle it on the field.
Here's the scenario, Monday night at West Florida all three teams will hit the field, arnold opens play for one quarter against Gulf Breeze. West Florida got the bye because of their overall record. The team that wins that first game will play West Florida for the second quarter. If the winner of the first game loses to West Florida then West Florida is the district champ and the loser of the second game is the runner-up. If West Florida loses they play the loser of game 1 for the runner-up spot. It's alot to think about! Not to mention the Marlins just played Friday. Arnold is coming off it's latest 5a district 1 win over rival Bay Friday night, that final 48-6 marlins.
"We explained to them today that we don't have two other quarters or three other quarters to get fired up to get to playing like we're capable of playing. You go out there and you're not ready and it's over. There's no tomorrow."Coach James Hale said. "We've got to play this one quarter the best we possibly can to give us the best opportunity to be successful."
