Auburn, AL---Auburn University wants to send those dying oak trees at Toomer's Corner out with a bang, you might say.
The University says It's going to host a "Celebrate the Tradition" block party at Toomer's Corner April 20th. That right after the A-Day scrimmage which ends spring practice.
It will allow fans one last chance to roll the oak trees at Toomer's Corner. As we all know, those trees poisoned by some nut job Tide fan in 2010. That poison slowly but surely killing the trees, this is how they look now.
They'll be removed some time in the spring, though that date has not been set. To keep the tradition alive, the university and city will create structures at the intersection of College and Magnolia suitable for rolling after the oaks are gone.
