Auburn, AL---Saturday served as a long, grueling, but ever important one for the Auburn Tigers, marking their first two-a-day of the fall practice season.
Coming off of their first day off of the fall Friday, following six straight practices to open camp, the Tigers returned with a mentality and commitment that head coach Gus Malzahn liked to see.
The squad showed they were ready to get back to wor and ready to get better, even with a huge workload ahead and spending all day out under the hot summer sun.
"We play our first game at 3:00. We've got to be able to handle the heat," said Malzahn. "Really up until this point, it hadn't been what I'd say's hot, it's been fairly mild. So it was a good day for our guys to feel what it feels like. We practiced outside primarily the whole day. It was a lot of offense and defensive emphesis. Just trying to get ourselves ready."
The second half of the two-a-day, Malzahn said, would consist of a lot of special teams action.
Kickoff for the 2014 season is all set for August 30th at Jordan-Hare Stadium against Arkansas.
