PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla-Not everybody was inside watching college football today, hundreds of people were at the Edgewater beach resort all day for the grand master lee "Battle on the Beach" Karate competition.

This American Taekwondo Association Karate Tournament has been going on in Bay County for over 30 years. Hundreds of kids and adults converge on PCB for a variety of martial arts activities, including traditional sparing, a weapons display and a combat weapons competition.

The Edgewater Conference center was packed Saturday and Grand Master Lee believes it's the perfect way to spend not only a weekend, but a lifetime learning this discipline.

Grand Master Soon Ho Lee said, "For young people competing it will build their confidence and also their discipline. It allows the individual to grow. As you can see in the background we have over a thousand people competing, and every year it grows. This is really a benefit for Panama City Beach, for tourist and for young people."
