Marianna, FL--It is a big weekend ahead indeed for the Chipola baseball faithful. Jeff Johnson and his Indians will again host their annual alumni weekend, that will include two games Friday, against Walters State and San Jacinto, and another one Saturday against Walters State starting at ten. Says Johnson:
"And right after that we'll do our alumni home run derby. That will be right around 12:30, one o'clock. You know we got Jose Bautista, who is the two time defending major league home run leader, back in here this weekend. Very proud he's coming back, he's come back Scott every year for us and did it again this year. Made a lot of concessions to get back out of the Domincan to be here. Jeff Mathis will be here, we're hoping Tyler Flowers and Matt Gamel will be here as well."
The Indians with a 5-4 record after their first 9 games so far this season, but Johnson says that doesn't worry him. He's scheduled some tough early season games and knows his team is still working to "find itself".
