Panama City, FL---Officially speaking, fall high school football practice is now under way. Teams have been working kids through summer programs, both in the weight room and on the field, however Monday the first day coaches could have kids put their cleats and helmets on for the first day of fall practice.
Several of the teams in our region practicing in the morning hours, one way to beat the heat no doubt.
Include Bay among that group, where Jimmy Longerbeam is heading into his third season as head coach.
"I tell you what we've had such a good summer." says coach Longerbeam. "We've had kids playing on both sides of the ball, so I think our depth's a little bit better than what we've had in the past. We've got really good kids, this group of kids has really put in the work. I tell you what they've got a great attitude, and I expected that. They're really moving around, we've had a great two hours and we're trying to finish up strong."
Basically teams will have two weeks of practice before school begins, then one final week of work culminating in a fall classic or jamboree. The regular season openers set for August 30th.
