PANAMA CITY, Fla- If it seems like Bay High School has been on the search for a head football coach for awhile, that's because they have been. Back on May 18th we learned that Coach Frank Sorrells would not remain at the school as Bay's Football Coach. The search for a new coach has been underway since.

Now the importance of getting someone in place is increasing because the summer won't last forever, and the team needs a coach for the 2011 football season.

Newschannel 7 sports spoke with Bay principal Billy May Wednesday afternoon after their posting for the job closed online and he says they have all the applicants they will consider. May said over the weekend the search committee will decided which of those candidates will be finalists for the job. They expect to hold interviews for the position Thursday the June 30th at the school.

Bay offered Pensacola High School offensive coordinator Dale Brewer the job, which he accepted and then declined, so this will be the second time for interviews.

The school is replacing outgoing head Coach Frank Sorrells who's contract was not renewed after three seasons with the school.

Bay High School had one of the best honest, fair coaches here in the panhandle I know cause he was the coach here at Walton High School, he treated all the boys equal if the worked and produce they played did not show any favortism, waht a mistake must of stepped on somebody's toes
