PANAMA CITY, Fla- Principal Billy May tells Newschannel 7 that after interviewing 5 candidates Thursday they have made their selection for the next head football coach at the school.

May would not release the coaches name because he has not yet informed the other 4 candidates of the school's choice. The formal announcement and an introduction will come Monday at the school.

May said, " We had a great list of candidates, we wouldn't have gone wrong with any of them, and the other guys will definitely be head coaches one day."

He added that, " Our criteria was to get a guy who would commit to being here 7-10 years, maybe longer, and we believe we've found the right person."

May said the new coach has experience in coaching, though not as a head coach, and his experience was probably the deciding factor over the other candidates.

Bay's new head coach is expected to start as soon as he's announced, and can be introduced.

We'll bring you more details as they become available.
