Panama City, FL--When it comes to high school boy's soccer, well just three area teams remain in the hunt for state titles.
One of those three, the Bay Tornadoes, who take their 18-6-2 mark in to the 2-A region semifinals tomorrow against Catholic, the same team Bay beat 5-1 for the district title.
The Tornadoes followed that up with a 5-0 win over Florida in their first round playoff match Tuesday. Bay again gets the luxury of hosting the round two match, and coach Ron Houpt says that's more than just a luxury.
"it's a tremendous advantage for the boys. They're used to playing at Tommy Oliver Stadium now. The majority of our late season games are at Tommy Oliver. So they feel really at ease."
That match at Tommy Oliver set for 7. The other two area teams playing in region semifinals Friday night, Niceville which will host Chiles in a 4A match, and Choctaw. which plays at Gulf Breeze on the 3A level.
