Panama City, FL--We begin at Tommy Oliver Stadium and the 3-A district one title match between Marianna and Bay. Given their 18-4-2 regular season record, it was logical to expect the Tornadoes to be in this match. Marianna on the other hand, just 7 regular season wins, so it was a surprise to see them make it this far, but they knocked off Walton and top seed Arnold earlier in the week, so here they were.
Bay showing from the outset they wanted no part of another upset, Hugh Higgins, corner kick and it's Ashton Hicks heading it to Dylan McCormick and he finihses in net...Bay up 1-0. Marianna's Michael Mader in goal, under duress all night...he stops several shots here later in the half. Bay kept coming though, late in the first Higgins with the free kick, it ricochets to Connor Healy and he drills it past Mader for the second goal of the game. In the second half Bay pours it on up 3-0, Ashton Hicks gets the ball and he puts it in the left corner for goal number 4. Bay adds two more to win 6-0, and they take their 4th distirct title in 6 seasons, they will host a first round playoff match Thursday, Marianna will play on the road.
