Blake Looking for More Defense From Top Ranked Indians

Marianna, FL---The Chipola men's basketball team is off to a 10-1 start so far this season. That record earning the Indians the number one spot in the state poll, number 5 nationally.

Though they've won 9 of their first ten, well let's just say head coach Patrick Blake isn't all that comfortable with the way his guys are playing right now.

"Ultimately to reach our goals this year we're gonna have to get a lot better and that starts on the defensive end. We have not played a possession of defense yet. It's just hasn't been important to our guys, we've been getting by on our talent on the offensive, averaging 90 points a game. But to compete in this conference, we've got to figure out how to get stops."

Coach Blake taking his team to Gainesville's Florida Shootout this weekend, they'll face Eastern Florida State Saturday and St. Pete Sunday. Gulf Coast and Northwest Florida also playing in Gainesville this weekend.
