Blountstown gears up for a round one playoff matchup with Northview

For many area prep football teams, the season is over, it's time for the players on those squads to focus on basketball, wrestling, track, baseball or some other endeavour. For a select 7 teams in the area though, the work continues, the dream continues. 7 local squads are looking ahead to playoff games this week, from the 4-A level to the 1-A class. Count the Blountstown Tigers among that elite 7. Coach Jordan's bunch with a 9-1 overall mark, a perfect five and oh in 1-A district two. So they're the champs of that league, and certainly heading into the postseason, and their 1-A region quarterfinal with Northview, with serious momentum.

Greg Jordan
Blountstown Head Coach

"Well you know we lost to Chipley, week two of the regular season there, and since then our kids have really responded, and worked each week to get better. Knowing that playoffs were what we were looking for at the end of the season. And we do have some momentum going right how, that was a very tough game we played with Liberty a couple of weeks ago, and that game could have gone either way. We got the break at the end of the game there, able to play at home in the first round of the playoffs and we hope that pays off for us."

This in fact will be the first time any of these Tigers have experienced a home playoff game. Kickoff against Northview a 7:30 central time start. More on all the area matchups as the week progresses.
