Sandestin, FL-- The 70 tournament boats competing here in the 2013 Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic able to hit the Gulf of Mexico just after 4 Thursday afternoon. In fact we have some video of, they went
out in parade like fashion, going out into the Bay and under the bridge at the Destin Pass.
Last night at the Captain's party we were able to catch up with a few of the participants and we talked with them with what it is that keeps bringing them back to the ECBC.
Mollie Captain Jeff Shoults certainly loves the venue here at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, but it is so much more than that.
"It has everything. And it brings people from Texas and all over the Gulf Coast, that's what we want. We
want the people to come here to fish against. We want to compete. We want to show them we're the
best, and try to beat them. You've got 70 of the top boats in the Gulf of Mexico here. Hey that's what
we're here for, we want to compete against them.
As does Mollie Owner Joe Hudson,
"It's the competition. It's out there, it's like owning a business. I'm a business. I have 23 shops, in
fact I have one in Panama City. It's being able to have your team in a position to win. And that's
what I enjoy doing. Once we get out there it's up to them."
And again they are out in the Gulf of Mexico. They'll fish tonight, tomorrow and Saturday with the weigh ins
4-9 Friday, 4-10 Saturday here at the Baytowne Marina. From the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort,
