Bobby Johns New Coach at Vernon

Vernon, Fl-- It appears the folks at Vernon have settled on former Blountstown coach Bobby Johns as the next head coach of the Yellow Jackets. Newschannel 7 has learned Johns was a finalist for the job, and we've also learned he's informed his current team he's leaving that school to come to Vernon.

Coach Johns has spent the last two years as the head coach at Bacon High School about an hour northeast from Valdosta, Georgia. Before that he spent some time at his alma mater at Baker County High School in Macclenny, Florida.

Befor that he had a very successful run at Blountstown. In 2004 he led the Tigers to a 15-1 record and a 1A state runner up finish. His 2005 team went 13-1 and made it to the region finals. In his 15 years as a head coach Johns has won 115 games. He takes over in Vernon for coach Ryan Boyd who was let go
after a 1-9 season.
