Bucks Hoping "Team Recipe" Pays Off At State

Sand Hills, FL---It's likely going to be a restless night for the baseball squads of Holmes and Bozeman. Those two are on the eve of the state 1A semifinals.

The Blue Devils at 22-7 take on a 25-1 Trenton team, and the Bozeman Bucks at 18-9, face a 17-7 Chiefland club.

That will actually be the first of the two games played tomorrow at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers.

Holmes left Monday, the Bucks packed up the bus and headed south Tuesday morning. They stopped in Newberry for a practice there.
During their home workout Monday, we spoke with Jeff Patton about his team's success so far this season.

"I think the key word is team. We don't rely on any one player. We've got 6 different guys who've logged 15 innings on the mound this year. And we've had a little bit of a rotating lineup at times. We play good defense. Those 6 guys we've got pitching, we feel pretty comfortable with any one of them, so it's been a group effort."

The Bucks play at four eastern Wednesday, Holmes at 7:30. Ted Williams making his way to Fort Myers Tuesday night, watch for his reports Wednesday night.
