Bulldogs Hire Beach Away From Graceville

Marianna, FL---For the second time in three days, an area team is introducing a new head coach!

Wednesday Marianna naming Mark Beach as the new coach of the Bulldgogs. He'll take over the A.D. role as well.

Coach Beach doesn't have to move very far, he spent last season coaching the Graceville Tigers, where he led that program to an 8-3 record, the 1-A two district title and a berth in the state playoffs.

That in his only season in Graceville, and his only head coaching gig. Before that coach Beach spent time as an assistant coach at Lafayette and Hernando High Schools.

Beach inherits a team that was 8-2 last season that just missed the playoffs. So the cupboard certainly not bare in Marianna. Tim Cokely guided the Bulldogs to that record but left after his one season there to go back to Tallahassee to coach Leon.

Coach Beach says he's thrilled to be taking over a program that is in such good shape.

"Oh I think it's phenomenal, I do. The guys, the learning curve's gonna be short because they had a high demand guy. I know coach Cokely's not a "junk guy" and I know what he set here is a great foundation to follow. I know some people are scared because he is such a great coach. But like I said, it's coaching, I've established and worked over in Graceville and I think we can do the same things here."
