Bulldogs Win at Godby, Advance in Playoffs


Tallahassee, FL---The Marianna Bulldogs live to play another round in the boy's state basketball playoffs. The Bulldogs traveled over to Tallahassee Thursday and got a win on the road, beating Godby 59-51.

Herman Williams led the 'dogs with 19, Shaq Baker added 15.
Marianna, now 26-2, moves into the 4A region semifinals and that takes them to Pensacola Tuesday to face district rival Catholic.

The Bulldogs beat Catholic twice during the regular season, but the Crusaders won their district title game hence they get to host this rematch.

-This game close the whole way as we pick it up in the third, one point Godby lead, that is until Shaq Baker leading the break connects on the ally oop to Trey Clemmons.

-Then a bit later it's Clemmons with the toss to Herman Williams for the two hand flush.

-Then it's Williams and Baker back and forth, Williams puts up the three, Dog's up 6.

-They go on to win by 8, 59-51. The Bulldogs will travel to Pensacola for a rematch of the district final against Catholic in the region semi's.
