Sand Hills, FL---The college coaching merry go round is having some effect on at least one area athlete.

Florida International Wednesday fired head coach Mario Cristobal after a relatively successful 7 year stint there, and just one year removed from back to back bowl trips.

Bozeman senior Chandler Burkett, number 19 in the attached video, is a verbal commit to FIU.

His coach Loren Tillman telling me Thursday Chandler is not decomitting, however he is going to keep a close eye on what happens in South Florida.

Burkett wants to play in a 3-4 defense, Cristobal ran a 3-4. Tillman says Burkett will also look at where coach Cristobal lands, that could be a factor.

So safe to say Chandler's keeping his options open. Maryland and Troy certainly interested in Burkett's talents. At 6-4, 230, running a 4.6 40, you can see why. Burkett with 122 tackles, 88 solo. also recovered 3 fumbles, and blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown.
