Busch Suspended, Future with Phoenix in Doubt

Lynn Haven, FL--Cursing at a reporter Saturday is costing Kurt Busch a one race suspension, and perhaps his ride with Phoenix Racing.

Busch, the driver of James Finch's Phoenix Construction 51 Chevy, was asked, following the Nationwide race Saturday night night, if being on probation changed the way he raced.

Busch responded to that reporter by saying "being on probation refrains me from beating the bleep out of you right now because you ask me stupid questions."

NASCAR, in handing out Monday's suspension, says that kind of behavior violates Busch's suspenion.

Last month NASCAR hit Busch withthat probation, and a $50,000 fine for reckless driving and a post-race altercation with Ryan Newman's crew members at Darlington.

Phoenix owner James Finch says he'll sit down very soon, face to face with Busch to discuss their future relationship.

Finch Monday telling ESPN.com "If he's going to kill himself I'm not going to be in the airplane with him." Finch says he's leaning towards putting David Reutimann in the 51 car at Pocono.
