Panama City, FL---It was not the kind of start to district play Bay was hoping for Thursday night at Tommy Oliver. The Tornadoes falling to Catholic by a score of 54-13, dropping Bay to 2-2 overall, 0-1 in 5A-1 play.
The game Tommy Oliver starting well for the Crusaders, who manage to score on their first possession. Quarterback Cody Henry rolls to his right and finds Tylan Purifoy for the 32 yard score, p-a-t fails and it's 6-0 Catholic.
Bay trying to answer, Xavier Longerbeam though would get picked off on a deep throw by Catholic's Duke Acromite who made a nice shoestring catch at the 41.
Crusaders cash that in a short time later when Henry connects with Daniel Byrd nice looking 8 yard curl, Crusaders go for two and get it, 14-0 lead.
Same score into second quarter, Catholic with the ball again, Henry again to the air, across the middle Emon Smith who makes the catch, shakes some tackles, and goes down the sideline to the Bay 4, set up a short td. run which, which made it 20-0.
Bay would finally on the board but it wasn't the offense producing those points, Bay's Wazir Brevard catches a tipped ball at the 15 and jogs in for the pick-6.
So it was 20-7 at the half, Catholic though adds two quick third quarter td's, and runs away with this one, the final 54-13. So Bay drops 2-2 overall, 0-1 in district play, they're on the road next week at Gulf Breeze.
