Cortland, NY---NewsChannel 7 Sports has documented the highs of the beginning of Port St. Joe native Calvin Pryor's rookie year, yet Saturday, the local star experienced his first low in the NFL.
During special team drills Saturday morning up in Cortland, NY, Calvin suffered a head injury after contact with a fellow teammate while going through punt protection practice.
The Jets first round pick jogged off the field immediately with a trainer and was evaluated for the possibility of a concussion. Pryor would return to the field, but in a hat and t-shirt, done for the day.
It was the team's first practice of training camp in full pads.
In his daily press conference, gang green's head coach Rex Ryan discussed Pryor's injury. "As of right now, we don't know if it was a concussion or not," said Ryan. "It was a head injury, and when those things happen, you're always going to side on being cautious."
NewsChannel 7 Sports spoke with the Jets media relations team Saturday evening and asked for the latest on Calvin's condition. They said the latest official word is that he went through his evaluation, but they don't have the results at the moment.
As for Pryor himself, Saturday night, he tweeted out "I'm fine everyone... no worries."
