Chase Seiffert Shoots 79, Misses the Cut in Indiana

Newburgh, IN---Mosley alum Chase Seiffert is heading home after two weeks of play on the Tour. His second taste of that tour not as sweet as his first.

Chase starting second round play Friday at the United Leasing Championship in Newburgh, Indiana with two bogeys and a double bogey, quickly taking him to four over for the day.

He never recovered, finishing the final 15 holes with one birdie and four more bogeys for a second round 79. That combined with his opening round of 72, leaving him 7 over for the 36 holes and well off the cut line of even par.

So after finishing tied for 13th the previous week at the Tour event in Raleigh, North Carolina, and winning a check of more than $11,000, Seiffert telling me Friday afternoon he's heading home to figure his next move.

The next Tour event is in Sandy, Utah, the week after next, so Chase does have a little time to decide what to do next in terms of his professional golf career, and how best to prepare for the fall when he intends on taking part in PGA Qualifying School.
