Chipley Hoping to Hand Blountstown It's First Loss of 2013

Blountstown/Chipley, FL---It is a very big game indeed set for Chipley Friday night.

The Tigers host longtime rival Blountstown in a 1A district 3 game that will determine who eventually wins that league title. This game our Personal Attention Dental Care Game of the Week!

The Tigers come into this battle with two league wins already, over South Walton and Bozeman. They are a perfect 7 and oh on the season, so Greg Jordan has a lot to feel good about in terms of his team's play so far.

"Our kids, we've played well for the most part. We started the season at Walton County a tough 4A match up over there. And since then our kids have played pretty well throughout the season. We've had some mistakes, and gotten a little bit better as the year's gone on up to this point."

As for the Tigers, they're 4-2 overall, but lost to South Walton in their only district game a couple of weeks ago. Coming off that disappointment, they rebounded big time last week, with a 36 point win over West Gadsden, leaving their coach Chip Harris, impressed.

"Well that was the question. We wanted to know if we had built some substance in our program, some character in our program. Would they come back tough, mentally tough and focused or would it drag us down. I was real pleased they bounced back the way they did. I think it's a tribute to the way those guys worked in the offseason and just what they stand for."

That game Friday night in Chipley set for 7, a win clinches the district crown for Blountstown. A Chipley win keeps that title up for grabs with South Walton, if they win at Holmes tomorrow, and even Bozeman in the picture.
