Chipley, FL---A few area teams will put on the game jerseys and play under the lights Thursday night.
Among those with spring games Thursday the Chipley Tigers, who are heading into a third season under head coach Chip Harris.
The previous two seasons the Tigers have progressed nicely, 4-6 in 2012, a 7-3 record last season.
These three weeks of spring sometimes tough on the kids, coach Harris admits, since they have to put in all the time with just one chance to really show themselves against someone other than an teammate.
"Well spring is kind of an animal in itself." coach Harris tells us. "Kind of a delayed gratification of knowing that the season is several months out. The kids have worked hard, they had a good offseason. They worked hard in the weight room, they continue to work hard in the weight room. The biggest thing right now is we're pleased with the effort. The kids are doing what they're supposed to do at practice, flying around. The teaching and learning will come but right now we've got a ton of young kids, the numbers are up, we've got a number of kids that are working hard."
The Tigers ending spring Thursday with a home game against Baker,
Also Thursday night Bozeman is hosting North Bay Haven, and Freeport is at Vernon. We'll have some highlights and scores for you tonight at ten.
