Chipley, FL---The Chipley Tigers are heading into the 2012 football season under some new leadership.
The Tigers, who made it all to the 1-A state title game, open Friday night at home against Vernon.
The Tigers going through a coaching change in the off season.
Coach Armstrong moved north, in comes 1990 Chipley grad Chip Harris, who came south from Ashford in South Alabama.
Harris inherits a program enjoying success in recent years, but that doesn't mean he isn't tinkering with things a bit.
"Well we're obviously doing a few things different." says coach Harris. "We want to be a little more versatile on offense, more versatile on defense. And I think right now the biggest obstacle is trying to teach the kids a different offensive system, a different defensive system. Even our kicking game is different. And that's the biggest things right now as far as goals for the players is trying to get these guys on the same page for the style of coaches that we have here. We'ver brought some different guys in, and trying to get them in our mindset. And they've adapted real well."
Highlights of that opener Friday at Chipley will be on Friday Night Overtime.
