Chipley Beats Malone for a Spot in the Final Four

MALONE, FL- Two of the most talked about teams in 1A met in a thriller in Malone as Chipley punched its ticket to the boy's basketball state Semi-Finals.

Malone took a 38-26 lead into half off hot three point shooting in the 2nd quarter. The Malone Tigers trailed by double digits before the run.

It was the Tigers of Chipley who came out shooting the lights out in the second half, and that was the difference in a 73-63 win by Chipley. Ryan McIntyre hit 7 tre's to lead Chipley with 23 points. Chai Baker's 28 wasn't enough for Malone who lost for just the fourth time this season.

Alex Hamilton and Cameron Dozier added 19, and 18 respectively for Chipley. Chipley heads to Lakeland for the state semi-finals against West Gadsden Tuesday.

Between Chipley and West Gadsden the teams only have 5 losses on the year.
