Bratt, FL--The Chipley Tigers are now making plans to be in Orlando next Friday for the 1A State Football Championship game!
Coach Armstrong and the Tigers, after winning their first two playoff games at Blountstown and at Holmes, won again Friday night at Northview. The Tigers dealing with some real drama well before the game as the team bus blew a tire, that tire caught fire, forcing them to evacuate that bus, which they did safely. but the damage to the bus was total. The players then loaded up themselves and their equipment on one of the booster buses, and finished the trip.
As for the game, the Chiefs Lamicheal Kyles started the scoring with a pitchout and a 35 yards run for the first touchdown, it was 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, another Chiefs drive capped by a td run by Rodrick Woods it was 14-0.
Chipley comes alive late in the quarter, Ryan McIntrye busting loose for 73 yards and a touchdown, the point after failed so it was 14-6.
Then before the half, it's McIntrye again to the far side, 30 yards, two point try fails they go to half 14-12 Northview.
Chiefs carry a 21-12 into the 4th, Tigers rallying, they cap a long drive with another McIntrye td run which made it 21-18.
Then with about 1:10 left, a 53 yard td pass from Josh Meyers to who else McIntrye, made it 25-21. Thats the final Chipley wins so the Tigers will face Jefferson in the State title game next Friday night at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.
