Chipola Back to Work in Advance of Trip to Hutchinson

Marianna, FL---It's a rather busy agenda for Chipola men's basketball coach Pat Blake and his hoops team this week. They are working towards a trip to Hutchinson Kansas and the National tournament next week.

They earned that berth at Nationals by winning state in Ocala Saturday and coach Blake says it's taken a few days for the guys to celebrate, and decompress, if you will from the three wins, and the state championship run.

"It was a very emotional weekend for us. Very happy for our guys, that's why they came to Chipola, to win a championship. But also trying to balance that with, we still have a lot of work ahead of us, in trying to get the right mindset to go to Kansas. This will be our first practice back since the weekend. We've been lifting weights, but we'll practice these next few days before we head to Kansas."

Both Chipola teams will bus it to Atlanta Saturday and fly from there, the ladies to Salina, the men to Hutchinson.

At 25-5, the Indians are the third seed out of the 24 teams, they get a bye in the first round and will play their first game Wednesday, the 19th.
