Chipola Basketball Practicing for FCSAA Tournament

Marianna, FL---A state title is still on the line in Juco ball. One that the Chipola Indians men and women will both be chasing. For the men's team, the Panhandle Conference co-champions have been hard at work in Marianna getting ready to head to Ocala for the FCSAA Tournament where they'll tip off the action on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, I was up talking with head coach patrick Blake, as he broke down his team's plan of preperation to get them ready to chase that desired state championship.

"Well these last two days, yesterday was more of an offensive day, offensive skill work," says Indians head coach Patrick Blake. "Now we're trying to get back to more of the fundamentals defensively. And then starting tomorrow, we'll start game planning for Central Florida, the host team. Right off the gate, we get the defending national champs. We've talked about it, this is the best time of the year and what a way to start off the state tournament."

That game against Central Florida will close out day one of the FCSAA tourney this Wednesday. They'll tip at 7 :00 PM central.

The Panhandle champ women begin play a day later on Thursday against Palm Beach at 5:00 PM central.
