Chipola Playing Strong Without Suspended Players

Marianna, FL --- As the Chipola Indians prepare for their Panhandle Conference battle with rival Gulf Coast Saturday night, you have to hand it to Coach Patrick Blake. Last weekend, the school suspended three key players, Cinmeon Bowers, Jamaar McKay, and Torian Graham following their arrests.

After a traffic stop, they reportedly ate some pot to conceal it from police, and were charged with tampering with evidence.

Even with the suspensions, Chipola went out and beat the Raiders and Pirates at home to take first place with that 4-1 conference mark.

"We've talked how adversity reveals character," said Blake. "And I think our guys have really embraced that. It is a tough time for everyone but they wanted to come out and you know really still show that we're a great team, and how close we are as a family."

That Chipola-GC men's game starts at 7:30, right after the ladies tip off at 5:30. The Lady Indians come in 5-0, Gulf Coast is 2-2.
