Auburn, AL---One of the area's top Juco basketball players announced Sunday that he's off to Auburn for the next chapter of his collegiate career.
Chipola's Cinmeon Bowers is shouting War Eagle after visiting campus yesterday.
This past season, the 6'6" forward averaged 12.4 points and a team best 8.9 boards a game.
Bowers is also ranked the top junior college recruit in the nation by CBS' 247 Sports.
You might remember he originally committed to play at Florida State, but was let out of the agreement after a mutual agreement with Seminoles head coach Leonard Hamilton.
Back in January, Bowers and two teammates, Jamaar McKay and Torian Graham were suspended following an arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence, as Mariana police claimed they were concealing marijuana, yet all felony charges were later dropped.
Bowers told NewsChannel 7 Sports over Twitter that during his trip to campus over the weekend, playing for the Tigers is a great situation for him.
Last month, former Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl was hired as Auburn's new head coach as Bowers becomes one of the new regime's first commitments.
