Chipola's Season Ends, Gulf Coast Loses First Game of FCSAA Tourney

Lakeland, FL---Sunday proved to be a tough day for local Juco baseball teams at the FHSAA State Tournament.

After dropping their opener in the double-elimination tourney Friday and seeing their do-or-die matchup with Tallahassee pushed back to an 8 AM EST resume time, the Indians dropped to TCC 3-2 to see their season finish with a 36-12 record, a Panhandle conference championship, yet an 0-2 record in the state tournament.

As for Gulf Coast , after winning their first two ballgames in Lakeland, the Commodores dropped to Polk State via run-rule, losing 8-0 in eight innings. As result, GC will play Tallahassee at 10 AM EST in another elimination ballgame. Winner's season continues. Loser's season ends.

The loss pushed Gulf Coast's record to 39-13.
