Grand Junction, CO-- Chipola's third game at the Juco World Series out in Grand Junction Colorado turns out to be their last.
The Indians opened out there Sunday with a win but lost lTuesday night to Navarro, and that put Chipola into an elimination game Wednesday afternoon against defending national champ Iowa Western. Indians in white going with freshman LJ Hollins, and he pitched in all kinds of trouble early on, he does snare the liner and get the double play in the first, but later had to pitch out of a bases loaded jam in that inning. In the second he gives up two runs then here in the third, Damek Tomscha takes him out to left, the solo shot over the wall in left, it was 3-0. Into the top of the 4th, two more western runs come in on Levi Meyer's double down the line in right, making it a 5-0 game, the Chipola pen would not fare any better, giving up 8 more runs through five.....the Indians offense unable to do anything, the run rule ends it, 13-0 in five. Chipola one win, two losses, they're coming home with a 5th place finish.

Jeff Johnson
Chipola Head Coach

"You know it's our third time in five years being out here, it's a great place and a great experience and opportunity for our kids to come out. Disappointed we didn't play any better but you gotta give Iowa Western a lot of credit they just put a good old fashioned butt-whooping on us today, Coach Reardon does a great job with those guys. You know had a tough one last night, I think it took a lot out of us. We were down on our pitching a little bit today. We trying to see if we could get everything turned back around but it didn't work out for us. But you know a good experience for our kids overall."

Jeff says they were having some issues re-arranging some flights, so he's not sure when the team will be headed back to Marianna.
