Coach Blanton and the Bulldogs get set for a playoff opener on the road at Rickards Thursday.

Marianna, FL-- Now to the prep level and another look ahead to round one of the boy's state playoffs set for Thursday night. Among the teams going into the region quarters as a district runnerup, the Marianna Bulldogs who lost to undefeated Chipley by 7 in their district title game. Still the Dog's boasting a 19-7 record, and are a team full of players with playoff experience, they made it to round two last year, in fact losing to Rickards.

"Very well coached, very well disciplined, they're very big and athletic. They're the opposite of what they were last year, they were real guard oriented last year. This year they are more oriented to the big kids. And still got two really good guards that start and they're a tough team. Obviously they won their district and they beat East Gadsden and East Gadsden's got a very good basketball team also."

This is Marianna's 8th straight trip to the playoffs. That game 7 eastern in Tally Thursday night.
