Like he has been all season, Auburn coach Gene Chizik was stoic and all-business Friday during warmups at the Georgia Dome for the SEC title game.
Auburn, AL--Coach Chizik is getting his Auburn football squad ready for it's second scrimmage of the Spring. The Tigers with off days Thursday and Friday, this is video from earlier in the week, when it was a tad cooler. So far Chizik says he likes what he's been seeing in Spring as he works to replace some very talented front line players like Cam Newton and Nick Fairley.
As for Saturday's scrimmage, Chizik says it's all about continuing to make the new frontline players, if you will, more and more comfortable with each other.
Auburn Head Coach
"You know we are gonna play as many of the guys as we think are ahead and keep those guys grouped together. So the tailbacks get a feel for the offensive line that is blocking in front of 'em, and protections. You know the linebackers get a feel for the secondary, and who's making the calls. And things of that nature. But the focus is gonna be exactly what it was the week before and that is the name of the game is consistency for the day."
Again that scrimmage Saturday, then next Saturday it's the annual A-Day game at 2 central at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
