PORT ST. JOE, Fla- The first week regular season High School Football was pretty action packed as area teams looked to start off their seasons with wins.

For the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks it was a good opener. Not only did they start things off 1-0, they also beat longtime rival Wewahitchka in a shootout. The final score was 34-26 for the Sharks. The defense left something to be desired, but the offense definitely produced. Port St. Joe had five players with over 100 yards rushing in the game. The win is going a long way to getting the team where it wants to be.

PSJ Head Coach Vern Barth said, "More of a confidence booster, and good show of character that even though we got behind early we didn't give up. We just kept fighting. And our kids knew that if we stayed with our program, and stayed with our game plan we could get back in it. It just definitely gives us a little bit of push going into week two."

Week two will bring a tough matchup with Bozeman. That game Friday at Port St. Joe.
