Scranton, PA----There's bad news for Mosley alum Cody Johnson. He's no longer a member of the Yankees organization, cut over the weekend by New York's Triple-A team Scranton-Wilkes Barre.
Cody was hitting just 167 in 54 at bats so far this season, with this his only homer, and 4 rbi.
This was his second season with the Yankees organization who paid the Braves nearly a million bucks in November of 2010 to acquire Johnson.
Cody a first round pick by the Braves in oh-6, showed serious flashes of power, but could not keep the average up, and simply struck out too many times for the Braves liking. The Yankees were hoping Cody's left handed power swing would be a perfect suit for that short porch in Yankee Stadium, but it appears he'll never make it there, at least not in pinstripes.
