Marianna, FL--There's news on the high school football front. Marianna's chosen it's next head coach, the Jackson County Floridan reporting that coach is Tim Cokely, who comes down from a private school outside Atlanta.
Before that Cokely made his name at North Florida Christian where he six state championships in 12 years between 1996 and 2008.
Bear in mind NFC a private school program where, it was perceived by many, usually had a bit of a talent advantage in those years, given it wasn't held to the same zoning restrictions as schools it played against on similar levels.
Cokely takes over for Steve DeWitt who was let go after three seasons, the team 5-5 last season and just 12-19 under DeWitt.
