Panama City, FL --- The Gulf Coast Men's Basketball team will celebrate Thanksgiving both Friday and Saturday, hosting their very own tournament at the Billy Harrison Field House.

It's appropriately called the Gulf Coast Thanksgiving Classic.

The Commodores, who enter with a strong 6-2 record, will welcome in three teams and play two of them, facing Walters State at 4:00 PM Friday and then battling Wallace State - Hanceville at same time on Saturday.

Head Coach Jay Powell says these type of matchups allow his team to face fierce hungry competition that will prepare them for the all important conference play

"We have to be on the top of our game every night, because we're getting most teams best shot. On the good side of that coin is that's gonna take a great effort to win each night in the Panhandle Conference. And so all of these best efforts that we're getting from other institutions, that's just preparing us for the final 12 games of the season, which in reality, determines what we get to do in the postseason."
