Commodores Get Set to Open Season

Panama City, FL---In just a couple of days area juco squads will tip off their seasons.

For the Gulf Coast mens team that means a trip up to Aiken South Carolina for a opening tournament up there.

As preseason practice winds down, coach Jay Powell says he's still leaning on his handful of sophomores, who he says are good players, to be good leaders, especially in practice.

"We need a couple of them to step up and bring the right amount of energy and the right amount of focus each and every day so that the other men can feed off of that. So that as the head coach I don't have to be the one trying to supply all of that every day in practice."

The Commodores take on Salkehatche Friday and Aiken Tech Saturday.
