Panama City, FL---The Gulf Coast Commodores continue to swing some rather hot bats, pounding Pensacola Friday 10-2 at Frazier Field.
That taking Gulf Coast's conference record to 2-0, and averaging 13 runs a game in winning 8 of their last 9, 23-9.
The Commodores came into Friday's home game averaging 13 runs a game in winning 8 of their previous 9. Friday was more of the same as Gulf Coast pounded out ten hits on the way to the 10 runs.
Ty Downing with a two run homer in the bottom of the 4th.
Lefty Brett Maggard the beneficiary of the offense, he got the start and the win.
The attached video shows the following:
We pick it up in the bottom of the first, men on second and third, Tevin Johnson reaches for the pitch, the second baseman scoops it and the off balance throw is nowhere near the bag, in comes Tyler Dial and Trevin Hall. A balk forces in another run it's 3-zip.
Top of the second, lefty Brett Maggard in a bases loaded jam, but helps himself big time here, starting the 1-2-3 double play, Ty Downing behind the plate there to finish it.
Bottom half, more offense, a 4th run scores on a fielder's choice, then it's Dakota Spikes with the shot to the fence in left center, Hall scores again, it's 5-2, 'dores add five more and win 10-2.
So 2-0 in conference heading back to Pensacola Friday.
