Commodores Prepare for Chipola Saturday

Panama City, FL---Call it a showdown game on tap for Saturday night when Chipola heads south to take on Gulf Coast.

The Indians coming off a loss last night to Pensacola which leaves them 1-2 in conference play. The Commodores are 2-1 in league play, and will have a week between games, having the bye midweek.

Wednesday I asked Gulf Coast head coach Jay Powell if that extra rest is an advantage going into Saturday.

"After you play three games in a week, or 8 days, like we did, it's nice to be able to heal up a little bit. I think that's a positive and a good thing. As far as the game plan, maybe this first time, it helps you."

After that coach says, the players know each other too well for it to make much of a difference. He did add the bye this week did allow him to hit the road and do some recruiting, which was nice, but tiring.

The women play Saturday at 5:30, the men at 7:30. It should be a crowded gym.
