Commodores Ready for Conference Stretch

Panama City, FL---The Gulf Coast Commodores are heading off to Pensacola tomorrow to play game two of a three game set with their Panhandle foe Wednesday.

But from this point on, every game is against a Panhandle opponent.

GC began a 17 game stretch of conference games Monday and coach Mike Kandler says the guys know now it's go time.

"Now it's for real," says Kandler. "We're done with the non-conference stuff and we realize that you've got to try to play well every day. Don't put too much into any one game, but at the same time, they all matter. You want to stay in the race as long as possible, so it's kind of like a prize fight, early rounds. You're posturing, you got to stay in the fight, you can't just get beat every round. So, with us sitting 2-2, we feel like we're ok. Hopefully at the end of the series, we're above .500 and ready to roll from that point."

First pitch of game two between the Commodores and Pirates is set for 5 PM Wednesday.
