Marianna, FL---The Gulf Coast Commodores are back alone atop the Panhandle baseball standings, thanks to a 5-3 win Friday at Chipola.
The Commodores taking their overall record to 34-9, more importantly 11-3 in conference play. That's a game ahead of Chipola at 10-4 in league play, the Indians now 31-9 overall.
Both teams scored three early runs, the Commodores pushed across three in the top of the first. Chipola responded with two in the bottom of the first and another in the second, tying the game at 3.
That's how it remained until the top of the 7th, when Gulf Coast got back to back rbi doubles by Chandler Durham and Jo Jo Durden making it a 5-3 game.
Ryan Koziel then came on in relief of Kelly, who pitched the first 6, and Ragsdale who pitched the 7th. Koziel getting a six out save to nail it down.
Chipola heads to Tallahassee Saturday, and will host the Eagles Monday. The Commodores are off until Wednesday when they play at Pensacola.

-There the Commodores with a man on second, Chandler Durham lines one to left, it goes to the fence, in comes Tevin Johnson and it's a 4-3 Gulf Coast.
-JoJo Durden on in relief for Chipola, and he's greeted by Max Barlett's double left, that makes it 5-3.
-Gulf Coast hangs on to win by that score, so they're back alone in first place at 11-3, Chipola second at 10-4. Indians back at it tomorrow, and Monday against Tally, Gulf Coast off until Wednesday at Pensacola.
