Panama City, FL--What a difference a week can make. Just over a week ago the Gulf Coast men's team was 3-1 in conference play, and tied for the Panhandle Conference lead.

Now the Commodores, losers of three straight, find themselves at 3-4 in conference, and a game and a half behind Pensacola for second in the standings. Those 3 losses coming in a span of just 7 days from Wednesday of last week to this past Tuesday.

So the Commodores are a bit worn out, but Jay Powell says the bigger reason why they've lost 3 in a row, breakdowns on defense, especially perimeter defense.

"So our players have to take that more seriously, to take that in, to digest the information we're giving them in practice and in pre game walk through. And we're gonna have to go out there and execute those things, like we did the first three games. You know there's proof there that our men are capable of doing it, but at the same time being capable of doing something is a long way from actually getting the job done."

Gulf Coast with nothing but practice and off time until Wednesday when they host rival Chipola.
