Commodores and Indians Open Baseball and Softball Seasons
The Gulf Coast Commodores and Chipola Indians were back on the diamond for the first time in the 2012 regular season this weekend.

The Gulf Coast Commodores and Chipola Indians were back on the diamond for the first time in the 2012 regular season this weekend.
The Gulf Coast baseball team went 1-2 over the weekend in the First Pitch Classic at Bill Frazier Field at Gulf Coast.
The Dores lost to Gordon College 9-6 on Friday, and lost to Darton College 3-1 Saturday. But they picked up their first win of the year 11-5 over Meridian Sunday night.
The Lady Commodores started the year in the JUCO Kickoff Classic in Clearwater, going 6-2 over the weekend. GC beat Indian River State College 8-1, beat Polk State College 4-1, lost to Seminole State College of Florida 3-0, beat College of Central Florida 5-0, lost to Santa Fe College 3-2, and won their last two against Stanly Community College 6-1, and South Georgia College 4-0. The Lady Dores are now 6-2.
The Chipola Indians Baseball team started the year 2-2 with wins over State College of Florida 5-1, and Broward 4-3.
and losses to Palm Beach State 5-1, and a 9-3 loss to Miami Dade.
The Lady Indians opened up with two wins Lamar State 17-0, and 11-3.
They followed that up with wins over Galveston Community College on Saturday, 10-8 and 11-2. They beat Heartland 12-4, and lost to LSU-Eunice 9-0 on Sunday. The Lady Indians are now 6-0.
