Cottondale, FL---Thursday night marked the final dress rehearsal before the 2014 season for the Cottondale Hornets and North Bay Haven Buccaneers.
First year head coach Tyler Addison and Cottondale hosted the three team jamboree with NBH and Munroe the other two teams taking part.
The home team faced Munroe in the first half of play, with the Hornets scoring first, just two plays in. DaMichael Faulk getting loose and going 48 yards for the score, and it's 6-0 Cottondale.
Not long after that, Faulk finds daylight again, this time a 47 yard run, that would set up a short touchdown run by JaVontai Hall making it 12-0.
Hornets wer both good on the ground and good in the air. Quarterback Justin Lipfort hit a slant pass to Manny Lockhart and the later goes 76 yards for another score.
The home Hornets win the first half 18-6.
The second of the three halves gave Jared Hale and the Bucs of North Bay Haven the chance to hit the field against Munroe.
Bay Haven's Braiden Hardesty gets things going with a 35 yard run for the score putting the Bucs up 7-0.
Not long after that, Steven Roberson goes 26 yards for the touchdown right up the middle, making it 14-0.
Roberson would go on to add a 70 yard TD run on top of that, helping to lead NBH to a 28-6 win in the second half.
Cottondale would go 2-0 on the night, defeating North Bay Haven in the third and final game 16-0.
The Hornets open the 2014 regular season at home against Freeport, while the Bucaneers open the new campaign by hosting Rocky Bayou Christian. Both games are set for August 29th.
