Marianna, FL--Let's about the Lady Indians of Chipola as Coach Lane and company head into their Christmas break with a more modest winning streak, they've won 8 in a row following two wins this past weekend at a tourney at Gulf Coast. That leaves them with a 13-3 mark, and for Lane, a very good feeling about how his freshman laden squad has handled what was designed to be a rather tough non conference slate.

David Lane
Chipola Head Coach

"We started out with a very tough schedule. We played 8 games and 6 of them were against ranked teams. We got three losses and all three losses were against teams that are ranked right now in the top 8 in the country. So we played a tough schedule early, allowed us to kind of figure out what kind of team we are and what kind of team we aren't. And then we got into a stretch there of going on the road and playing some teams. So we've tried to put the kids through the paces and get 'em working so they get a feel for at least an idea of what the competition's gonna be like in the panhandle."

The Lady Indians are off until late next week, they'll play two down in Gainesville on the 29th and 30th, then open the conference season January 8th against rival Gulf Coast.
