Destroyers Drop in XSFL Championship Game

Panama City Beach, FL---The Coastal Destroyers of the Xtreme South Football League were playing for a championship Saturday night, hosting the action at their own spot, Pete Edwards Field.

There they took on the Tuskegee Ayrmen for the XSFL Championship in front of a nice crowd on hand to support the home Destroyers.

Yet it's the Ayrmen who jump out first in the 1st quarter, as Deion Woods finds Markelle Cox in the perfect spot. The receiver able to keep his feet inbounds. Touchdown Tuskegee. The two-point try fails, leaving the score 6-0.

The Destroyers go on a scoring drive mid-way through the second quarter when Eric Mitchell drops back and throws to Dexter Davenport for a 20 yard gain. They'd score on a goal line run to tie it at 6, as their two-point attempt was also no good.

The Coastal defense then stopped Tuskegee's drive to score before the quarters end, as the half ends 6-6 in a tie. In the second half, they tied again at the end of regulation 20-20.

In overtime, the Ayrmen scored and converted their two-point try after to go up 28-20. The Destroyers had the chance to tie, but couldn't come up with a score to keep the game going.
